Just Released - Unit Classes

Contemporary fund management often calls for sophisticated fund structures and diverse investor requirements. Fund managers may offer varying rights, distribution rates and fee structures whilst maintaining optimal operational efficiency. We are pleased to announce that Caruso now supports comprehensive unit class management across our platform.
Understanding Unit Classes
Unit classes represent distinct segments of a fund's equity or ownership, each offering specified benefits or terms to investors. For instance, consider a commercial property fund offering Preferred Shares with a 0.75% management fee and 60-day redemption notice period, alongside Ordinary Shares with a 1.25% fee and 120-day notice period. Both share classes provide exposure to the same underlying property portfolio, but with terms tailored to different investor preferences and commitment levels.
When creating a new fund in Caruso, a default unit class is automatically set up. If additional unit classes are created in the same fund, investors can hold positions across multiple classes within the same fund.

Caruso’s unit class framework greatly expands the possibilities for fund managers. By enabling multiple classes within a single fund, managers can now create tailored investment products.
